String Wound Sediment Filter Cartridge

String wound sediment filter cartridge is a deep filter element with a certain shape made by continuously winding multiple strands of wire together at a certain spacing. This type of cartridge can efficiently remove suspended particles (such as sediment, rust, colloids, impurities) from liquids and provide reliable pre-filtration protection.

 

How it Works:

 

The core advantage of string wound sediment filter cartridges is their deep filtration mechanism, which is very different from surface filtration:

1. Particle capture: the liquid to be filtered flows radially (from outside to inside) from the outside of the cartridge to the filter layer.

2. Layer-by-layer interception: Particles are not just held back on the surface of the cartridge. As the liquid penetrates deeper into the filter layer, they are attracted to, and trapped in, the various layers of the complex three-dimensional labyrinth network of fibrous threads:

• Large particles are first trapped in the loose outer layer.
• Medium particles are captured in the middle layer.
• Fine particles are finally trapped in the dense inner layer.

 

1. Deep gradient filtration
The pore design of sparse outside and dense inside intercepts particles of different particle sizes layer by layer, with a large dirt holding capacity and a life extension of more than 30%.
2. Material safety and compatibility
Polypropylene (PP) material is resistant to acid and alkali, organic solvents, in line with FDA food-grade standards.
3. Low pressure loss and high efficiency
Initial pressure drop of 0.02MPa, stable flow, energy saving.
4. Economy and environmental protection
can be reused for multiple flushing (limited to PP material), the replacement cost is only 1/5~1/3 of the membrane cartridge.
