The 11NC20 Activated carbon filter is a large-diameter, high-performance carbon canister containing granulated, lignite-based activated carbon. It adsorbs organic contaminants generated when process liquids flow from outside the canister into the sealed central core, enabling clean replacement and minimizing residual activated carbon downstream.
Working Principle
The 11NC20 activated carbon filter operates on adsorption - not sieving. Activated carbon is extremely porous and provides vast internal surface area.
As contaminated liquid moves slowly through the granular carbon bed (outside → in), organic molecules are attracted to and held on the carbon's pore surfaces by physical adsorption mechanisms (pore diffusion and van der Waals forces).
Over time the active sites fill and the media approaches saturation; the moment you start to see darkening of the treated fluid is the practical signal that the canister is reaching breakthrough and should be replaced.
