Wound filter cartridges consist of a continuous yarn or fiber spirally wound around a central core. By varying the yarn thickness and winding density, a gradient of pore size can be created from the outer layer inward. As a result, contaminants are intercepted in stages-first coarse debris, then finer particles-minimizing pathways and maximizing throughput.
