The working principle of the self-cleaning filter mainly relies on its unique internal structure and advanced cleaning mechanism. Different types of self-cleaning filters may be cleaned differently, but the basic principles of operation are similar. That is, by monitoring parameters such as pressure difference inside and outside the filter or setting time, the cleaning program is automatically started to remove the impurities accumulated on the filter screen, so as to maintain the continuous and efficient operation of the filter.
Here's how a few common self-cleaning filters work:
Automatic backwash filter- automatic cleaning with a backwash mechanism.
1. Filtration process: After the contaminated liquid enters the filter, due to the action of swirling, the larger solid particles are thrown onto the filter wall, and then settle to the bottom and discharged through the blowdown valve. Small particles are intercepted by the filter screen, and clean fluid flows out of the filter outlet.
2. Cleaning process: When the pressure difference in the filter reaches the preset value, the cleaning and sewage discharge procedures will be automatically started. At this time, the blowdown valve is opened, the hydraulic motor releases the pressure and discharges the water, forming a negative pressure, which sucks the pollutants on the inner wall of the filter through the suction nozzle and discharges it by the blowdown valve. At the same time, the hydraulic motor drives the suction pipe to rotate and axial movements, and the combination of the two completely cleans the entire inner surface of the filter screen. At the end of the cleaning, the blowdown valve is closed and the filter is restored to filtration.

Brush self-cleaning filter - automatic cleaning with brushes.
1. Filtration process: The contaminated liquid enters the filter from the inlet, and the impurities in the liquid are deposited on the stainless steel filter screen.
2. Cleaning process: monitor the change of pressure difference at the inlet and outlet through the differential pressure switch, when the differential pressure reaches the set value, the electric controller will give the hydraulic control valve and the drive motor signal, and the motor will drive the brush to rotate and clean the filter screen. At the same time, the control valve is opened for blowdown. At the end of the cleaning, the control valve is closed, the motor stops rotating, and the system returns to its initial state and begins the next filtration process.

Scraper self-cleaning filter - automatic cleaning with scraper.
1. Filtration process: the filter fluid is pressed into the filter, the fluid passes through the filter screen from the inside out, the impurities larger than the pore size of the filter screen are intercepted on the inner surface, and the clean fluid passes through and is discharged by the outlet.
2. Cleaning process: A scraper moves up and down inside the filter to remove impurities that accumulate on the inner surface of the filter.

There are many types of self-cleaning filters, but the ultimate goal is to achieve automatic cleaning and high filtration efficiency. In practice, you need to select the right product type based on your specific filtration needs and operating environment.
