Quartz sand filters use quartz sand as a filter bed to remove debris, suspended solids, colloids and other contaminants from the raw water. Quartz sand particles are hard and chemically stable, and have been tested to have excellent filtration efficiency and long service life to meet the filtration needs of any water treatment field.

How it works

When the raw water enters the sand filter from the inlet, it passes through the quartz sand filter bed of a certain thickness from top to bottom under the action of pressure. Due to the strong adsorption effect of quartz sand, after being tightly arranged, it can ensure that pollutants such as suspended solids, organic matter, colloidal particles, microorganisms and some metal ions are trapped, and clean water can pass through and discharge smoothly.

The quartz sand filter is also equipped with an automatic backwash function. When contaminants have accumulated on the filter bed to a certain amount, a backwash program can be initiated to flush out the contaminants by reversing the flow of water to restore the filter to its original filtration performance.
