Sand Media Filter

The sand media filter consists of a housing filled with filter media, which mainly uses physical processes to remove solid particles and impurities from the raw water. Sand is the most commonly used filter media with a uniform particle size that retains any fine suspended solids. The size of the filter sand can be adjusted according to the specific needs of the user.

Filtration Phase:

Sand media filters mainly use sand to filter raw water. When the raw water enters the filter, it slowly passes through the laid sand layer. Due to the fine pore size of the sand layer, contaminants larger than its particle size, such as solid particles, microorganisms, and suspended solids, will be retained. And clean water can pass through without a hitch.

 

Backwash Phase:

As the equipment continues to be used, the surface of the media will gradually increase in impurities and contaminants, at which point the backwash program can be initiated manually or automatically. Reverse water flow is used to flush away contaminants and restore the filtration performance of the filter media.
