Shallow Sand Filter

The shallow sand filter is an industrial sand filter that reduces water turbidity and purifies water quality, which consists of one or more standard high-speed sand cylinder units with a unique water distributor and water collector inside. It mainly uses sand that is evenly tiled inside to remove particles and impurities from the water.

1. Filter status

When the system is in a filtered state, the raw water flows into the distributor through the filter inlet, which is evenly distributed, and the unfiltered water flows through the filter material layer in the filter in a laminar flow state. Clean water flows out of the outlet and impurities are trapped in the media layer. There are multiple water collectors at the bottom of the filter to collect and drain the filtered water evenly.

2. Backwash status

When impurities accumulate in the media layer to a certain amount, the internal pressure loss increases. When the inlet and outlet pressure loss reaches the set value, the system will automatically switch to a backwash state. When the backflushing ends, the hydraulic valve changes the direction of the feed water to achieve backwashing one by one, making it easier to clean the accumulated impurities.

When the system is in the backwash state, the filtration continues, where the standard unit cartridge to be backwashed is not filtered, and the other standard unit cartridges in the system are still being filtered. After filtration, the clean water part is used to backwash the standard unit sand cylinder, and the rest is still sent to the user.
