Industrial self cleaning filters are designed to remove solid particles and impurities from water and even seawater. It works using the natural principle of fluid flowing from high pressure to low pressure, and is equipped with a differential pressure transmitter that sends a signal to the control system for automated operation.

In addition, the self-cleaning design of the filter effectively avoids the problem of stopping the filtration process due to blockages or a need to change the strainer elements. At present, it is widely used in process fluids, lubricants, petrochemicals, seawater desalination, power processes and cooling water systems and other fields.

How it works

 

The self-cleaning function of an industrial self-cleaning filter can be triggered by several factors, including differential pressure, flow rate, time, manual selection, etc. One of the most common methods of operation is cleaning control by differential pressure, which is self-cleaning using the system pressure.

Here's how it works: The unfiltered liquid enters through the filter inlet, and the stainless steel filter screen inside filters the solid contaminants in the liquid, trapping it on the inner surface of the filter screen. Contaminant build-up causes a pressure differential between the inlet and outlet, and when the differential pressure reaches a set control value, the backwash valve opens. This creates a low-pressure flow for the nozzle, which then sucks up the particulate impurities that have accumulated in the filter. Finally, a clean liquid flows out of the outlet.
