About Filtration Efficiency

 

The efficiency of a carbon sand filter depends mainly on the turbidity of the water and the total amount of suspended solids.

As the proportion of contaminant particles and turbidity increases, so does the amount of filter media and the capacity of the filter to increase the area within the filter for sediment and impurities to be filtered, thereby increasing the time between backwash operations and improving filtration efficiency.

During the backwash process, the water flows in the opposite direction to the normal filtration flow. When the reflux rate is high enough, the contaminants accumulated on the media can be discharged from the filter in time. The backwash process lasts about 10-15 minutes and the cleaning efficiency is high.
